Mall of Tripla, the urban centre opening in autumn 2019 in Pasila, Helsinki, has almost 70 percent of its retail space leased out. Among the newest tenants is the Baltic movie theatre chain Cinamon, which strengthens the culture and experience offering of the new urban centre. In addition, the Töölö congregation will open premises at Mall of Tripla, which will bring more services in the Pasila region.

The experience offering at Mall of Tripla is growing again: Cinamon, a newcomer to the Finnish market, will open an experiential cinema world of over 2,000 square metres at the shopping centre. The new movie theatre will be located in striking premises with high ceilings on the fifth floor of Mall of Tripla, in the immediate vicinity of the new Pasila railway station.

Cinamon will bring to Helsinki six advanced cinema halls equipped with the latest technology 2D and 3D laser projectors, high quality comfort club seats as well as premium leather reclining seats for extra comfort. The cinema will also roll out its new interior retail and lounge concept, which ensures quick and easy ticket, snack and drink purchase as well as direct entry to the cinema halls via contemporary self-service customer technology. In addition to movie experiences, Cinamon will offer its premises to private and corporate events and conferences – a service, which will greatly benefit companies in the surrounding Pasila area.

“We are very pleased to bring our new generation cinema concept to Helsinki. Our aim is to benefit the Mall of Tripla visitors and all moviegoers in Helsinki ensuring a contemporary, cutting-edge cinema experience and high-level customer service,” says Tatiana Tolstaya, CEO of Cinamon Holding.

The church comes to Central Pasila

Among the new tenants of Mall of Tripla is the new Töölö congregation, which will be formed after the Meilahti and Töölö congregations merge on January 1, 2019. The new Töölö congregation will open premises of approximately 500 square metres on the fifth floor of the shopping centre. The new premises are neighboured by the Pasila railway station, a gym, and the cinema world, and they are easy to reach. The Tripla congregation centre offers diverse services to the people of the greater Pasila region as well as the Tripla clientele, employees, and public transport passengers.

“Mall of Tripla offers the congregation and the church in Helsinki a unique opportunity to meet and serve people in the heart of the new centre for urban culture. After the chapel in Western Pasila was closed in early 2017, Pasila has been a blind spot. We are happy to serve the Pasila residents in their neighbourhood once again starting from autumn 2019,” tells Hannu Ronimus, Vicar at the Meilahti congregation.

The congregation centre opening during autumn 2019 at Mall of Tripla offers opportunities for open house activities, various congregational events, and other events organized together with collaboration partners. For example, the congregation centre can offer lounge and family café facilities, youth work events, the Eucharist, music events, baptisms, and the presence of a mall priest. The more detailed planning of the new congregation centre’s activity concept will start in 2018.

“Mall of Tripla is happy to welcome both Cinamon and the Töölö congregation. Both new tenants add to the service offering of the new urban centre with their approachable concepts. In the future, in addition to shopping, you can have your first date at the movies and organize any church event from weddings to christenings at Mall of Tripla,” describes Pirjo Aalto, Commercial Development Director of Mall of Tripla.

Opening in autumn 2019, Mall of Tripla will be an urban centre offering not only extensive shopping and restaurant services but also new kinds of cultural activities and experiences, like the Finnish Music Hall of Fame; HopLop, an adventure park for families; and Surf Beach Helsinki, a unique indoor summer concept combining surfing and beach volley. With 250 stores, Mall of Tripla will be Finland’s largest shopping centre measured by the number of stores. Mall of Tripla is located at the heart of Tripla. Tripla is a three-block urban centre, which includes a shopping centre, a parking complex, a public transportation hub, apartments, a hotel, and office space.
