We are committed to long-term business success, which means that we do not pursue a good financial result at any cost. In order to achieve business success, we must respect our stakeholders and create value for all of them, including customers, shareholders and employees.

YIT's Code of Conduct are a concrete expression of what compliance with our values means in our work with different stakeholders. The Code of Conduct are not meant to be a detailed guide that provides an answer to every question, but rather a general guideline that demonstrates the way we want to conduct business. The document includes the principles that guide our operations in relation to customers, employees, shareholders, business partners, competitors, society and the environment. You will also find information related to compliance with our business principles and reporting infringements.

Every YIT employee is expected to perform operations in accordance with the operating principles.

How to report a concern

YIT is committed to respecting good governance and responsible business principles

We want to ensure good conduct throughout the supply chain and we support developing our industry towards ever greater levels of responsibility and ethics.

YIT’s whistleblower-system, called YIT Ethics Channel, enables our employees, customers, suppliers and other third parties to report possible irregularities to laws, regulation and good business practices. Those may include, for example:

  • Anti-trust, competition legislation
  • Conflicts of interest or unfair business practices, fraud
  • Environmental violations
  • Bribery, corruption or other illegal payments
  • Data protection, information security, property rights
  • Inappropriate acceptance or offer of gifts or entertainment
  • Labor conditions, occupational safety
  • Money laundering, tax crime
  • Stock exchange rules

The YIT Ethics Channel should not be used for complaints or to report on issues related to personal disputes. They should be handled with the actual responsible persons.

The YIT Ethics Channel is available 24/7 by online and by phone, in 12 languages.

We encourage you to report openly, by providing your own name and contact details, as all reports are handled with strict confidentiality.

However, you may also choose to report anonymously.

The YIT Ethics Channel is completely distinct from the IT environment of YIT. The third-party service provider (WhistleB) safeguards the anonymity of the person reporting and protects sensitive data. It is not possible to track an anonymous person. IP addresses or other data that could identify a person sending a message cannot be tracked. To minimize all risks, you can leave a notification on a device other than your own computer or mobile device.
