YIT has started construction of a new residential project in the city of Tyumen in Russia. Located in the city centre the approximately one-hectare plot will see the construction of two 17- and 21-storey residential buildings and a car park. Named City Zen, the project will consist of 292 apartments, most of which will be two- and three-room apartments. Sweden-based Semrén & Månsson Architects designed the buildings.

The value of the project is approximately EUR 15 million and it will be fully completed in the first quarter of 2021. The sale of the apartments will begin in the end of October 2018. The project will be entered into the order backlog for the third quarter of 2018.

The new residential buildings in Tyumen will be characterised by a wide range of different apartment layouts. They also include Transformer apartments that allow residents to subsequently adjust their floor plans according to pre-designed models when their needs change. The car park will fit architecturally with the complex and connect the two residential buildings. A shopping gallery will be located on the first floor of the car park.

City Zen is situated in a district with developed infrastructure of the city centre of Tyumen, a walking distance from a school, day-care centres, medical centres, dental clinics, pharmacies, recreational centres, shops as well as several cafés and restaurants.

The city of Tyumen is the administrative centre of Tyumen Oblast in Western Siberia. As the administrative hub of the region’s oil and natural gas industry, it is the base of operations for many companies in that sector. With a population of approximately 770,000, Tyumen is the 18th largest city in Russia. There are several universities in Tyumen with almost 90.000 students. The standard of living in the region is higher than the country’s average.

“City Zen is a special project in terms of its design solutions and style.  It offers trendy and peaceful homes in Tyumen’s city centre for today’s active people who are looking for a good price-quality ratio,” says Inga Semenova, General Director of YIT Tyumen.
