YIT introduces a new housing product concept, YIT Olo. The concept has been developed based on extensive consumer research and is rooted in the idea of a well-designed home featuring functional details.

“A YIT Olo home is a high-functioning and clearly structured space that stands the test of time and meets the needs of an active life. The concept combines the beauty of a home, through materials chosen by the customer, with the smooth flow of everyday life,” says Mari Puoskari, EVP, YIT’s Residential Finland segment.

Homes based on the concept are being designed for construction in the regional centers of large cities and the downtown areas of medium-sized cities. The next homes under this concept are being planned for Tampere and Porvoo.

Uncompromising customer orientation guides the continuous development of YIT’s apartment design and construction as well as customer service and experience. In addition to the YIT Olo concept, YIT launched the YIT Formia product concept earlier this year.

New homes in popular area Penttilänranta

YIT is also launching construction of Asunto Oy Joensuun Sahan Piha, a self-developed residential apartment building in Joensuu. The four-story building will feature 25 new YIT Homes. The value of the project is approximately EUR 7 million. Construction will begin in August 2026, and the project is scheduled for completion in May 2027.

Located on Suursahankatu in the Penttilänranta area of Joensuu, the apartment building will have nearly 1,313 square meters of residential floor area. The apartments at Joensuun Sahan Piha range from 26 to 87 square meters, and residents can choose from a variety of floor plans, ranging from studios to four-room apartments. All apartments offer views of the Pielisjoki River. In designing the units, special attention has been paid to natural light, ample storage space, generously sized balconies, and functional floor plans. The building's facades will be primarily constructed of wood. The building will be situated on a self-developed plot.

The building will be constructed to energy class A. Individual monitoring of cold and hot water consumption will help residents conserve water. During construction, the site will use only electricity produced from renewable sources, and at least 75% of site waste will be sorted for recycling.

"Penttilänranta in Joensuu offers an ideal place to live, combining beautiful scenery, modern living, and excellent services. The location provides residents the opportunity to enjoy both nature and city life simultaneously,” says Mari Puoskari.

Asunto Oy Joensuun Sahan Piha is the first to be built as part of a four-building block development, and it is located right along the riverfront path.
