YIT to build the first Work & Trade retail building in Vantaa, Finland

YIT will start the construction of a business premises under its Work & Trade concept in Koivuhaka, Vantaa, Finland in January 2013. Work & Trade Avia is a new building to be built on a plot owned by Heinon Tukku and upon its completion, its total floor area will be approximately 4,500 square metres. At the same time, the facade of the office building already located on the plot will be renewed. The project will be completed in December 2013.

Work & Trade Avia will be the first retail building under the new business premises concept developed by YIT. The Work & Trade concept provides growth-oriented B2B businesses with a combination of commercial business premises in an area with good connections where various functions and business operators can be found in one place, which improves overall service and makes the location easier for customers to access. Even before this, YIT’s contribution to the development of the Koivuhaka area has been significant: its construction projects in the area include for inctance Koivuhaka Retail Center, MotorCenter Avia and Kiinteistö Oy Maali.

Energy efficiency and use of renewable energy have also been taken into account in the planning of the Work & Trade Avia premises. The facade makes it possible to mount solar panels on the roof, providing energy for cooling offices and lighting common facilities, for instance. Energy consumption can be optimised according to the tenants’ needs as each business facility, storage room, showroom or shop can be heated or cooled separately.

“Koivuhaka’s location at the junction of major roads and near the airport makes it an attractive business area. Work & Trade Avia offers a combination of premises to the sector providing services to industry and construction as well as enhances Koivuhaka’s attractiveness. A good example of this is the anchor tenant Tools, a leading supplier of industrial gear and components in the Nordic countries: they will have their Finnish headquarters as well as a customer pick-up warehouse in these premises,” says Director Tapio Salo from YIT Construction Services Finland.
