YIT to build Atlas Copco’s Finnish head office and maintenance facilities in Vantaa, Finland

YIT and Oy Atlas Copco Ab have signed an agreement on the construction of Atlas Copco’s Finnish head office and maintenance centre in Vantaa’s Hakkila district, in the immediate vicinity of Highway 4. The building will have a total floor area of some 4,000 m2, and the project’s total value is approximately EUR 8 million. Construction will begin in October 2013 and the building will be completed in autumn 2014. LEED environmental certification will be sought for the building after its completion. The project client is Oy Atlas Copco Kiinteistö Ab.

According to Ilkka Eskola, General Manager of Oy Atlas Copco Ab, the construction of the new service centre is a significant project in many ways.

“An effective and modern service centre will facilitate the competitive selling and maintenance of our products. With an emphasis on energy efficiency and responsibility, the new building will also represent the ecologically sustainable values of our Group,” Eskola says.

“The service centre will be built as a turnkey project, with YIT assuming comprehensive responsibility for design, construction and building systems. This operating model allows us to provide the best possible service to the customer while taking advantage of our extensive expertise in implementing a challenging business premises project,” says Jukka Hanhilahti, Director at YIT.
