LEMMINKÄINEN SELLS ITS ROAD MARKING COMPANY

Lemminkäinen Corporation is selling its subsidiary Tielinja Oy, a
road marking company belonging to the Paving and Mineral
Aggregates Division. The buyer is Elfving Opasteet Oy Ab,
Finland’s leading manufacturer of road marking materials and a
company belonging to the Elfving Group. Tielinja Oy has been part
of Lemminkäinen Group since 1980.

The reason for Lemminkäinen’s withdrawal from the road marking
business is the change in contract models used by clients, which
has led to a weakening of the synergy benefits between Tielinja
and Lemminkäinen’s asphalt paving operations.

In 2005 Tielinja Oy generated net sales of EUR 7.5 million. The
company carries out road and street marking contracts in Finland
and produces marking materials at its production plant in
Tervakoski. Tielinja will be transferred to Elfving Opasteet’s
ownership at the beginning of December 2006.
