LEMMINKÄINEN WINS CONTRACT FOR MOSCOW’S NEW CENTRAL RING ROAD

Lemminkäinen and a Russian company OOO MOISS have agreed upon the renovation of a road section and widening it to a motorway as part of Moscow’s new Central Ring Road. The work will begin immediately and it is estimated to be completed in October 2017. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the contract.

The section now agreed upon with Lemminkäinen covers eight kilometres, and the contract includes both the earthworks and paving. Lemminkäinen will carry out the work as a subcontractor to MOISS.

The new 330-kilometre Central Ring Road to be constructed around Moscow will be the fourth and outermost of the ring roads. Lemminkäinen has worked in the Moscow region since 2009 paving the M4 and M2 motorways and bridges, among other projects.
