LEMMINKÄINEN TO BUILD A NEW INDOOR SPORTS CENTRE IN TURKU

Lemminkäinen will build a new indoor sports centre for Turku Technology Properties Ltd. Construction will begin in spring 2016 and the new sports centre will be completed in late 2017. The gross size of the project is approximately 9 580 square metres and its total value is approximately EUR 15 million.

The new indoor sports centre will be built on the Trivium plot in Turku’s Lemminkäisenkatu street in Southwest Finland. Lemminkäinen will be responsible for the project’s planning and construction. The building will have space for spectator stands with capacity for 2,500 people, and the arena will have a room height of 12.5 metres to meet the requirement for international volleyball matches.

“The new indoor sports centre will boost Turku’s appeal. We will have an indoor arena whose dimensions meet the international standards for volleyball. The arena will be suitable not only for volleyball but also for a variety of sports including basketball, handball, floorball, futsal and gymnastics,” says Mikko Lehtinen, CEO at Turku Technology Properties Ltd.
