LEMMINKÄINEN TO CARRY OUT THE TECHNICAL BUILDING SYSTEMS FOR MYLLY SHOPPING CENTRE EXPANSION PROJECT

Lemminkäinen and Mylly Shopping Centre located in the city of Raisio, in Southwest Finland, have signed an agreement for contracting the technical building systems for the shopping centre's expansion section. Work will begin immediately and the expansion will be completed in November 2015. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 8 million.

Lemminkäinen is responsible for carrying out the entire technical building systems, which also includes design management. The expansion comprises a total floor area of approximately 24,000 square metres. The shopping centre will continue to operate as usual during the extension work.

"In the Mylly Shopping Centre extension project, special attention will be paid to environmental issues and energy efficiency, in which up-to-date technical building systems plays an important role," says Pertti Vikkula, CEO at Mylly Shopping Centre.

"We wanted to choose a supplier who is able to take on responsibility for the whole project; from planning to the implementation and deployment phase. Lemminkäinen has experience of proven technical building solutions in shopping centres," says Vikkula. 

Mylly Shopping Centre is the largest shopping centre in Southwest Finland with approximately one hundred stores. By the completion of the expansion, the number of the stores will increase to approximately 150.
