Lemminkäinen to build the Niittykumpu station for the West Metro

LEMMINKÄINEN TO BUILD THE NIITTYKUMPU STATION FOR THE WEST METRO

Lemminkäinen and Länsimetro Oy have signed an agreement on the construction of the Niittykumpu station on the West Metro line in Espoo. The work will begin in May 2014, and it is scheduled for completion in late 2015. The contract value is approximately EUR 21 million.

The Niittykumpu metro station will be located between Merituulentie and Haukilahdenkatu streets. The agreement covers the construction of the station building and the maintenance tunnel.

Lemminkäinen has been involved in building the West Metro right from the beginning and is the biggest individual metro builder. In addition to the Niittykumpu station, Lemminkäinen will also build the Matinkylä and Tapiola stations. The company has also, for instance, participated in the excavation work for the track and service tunnels at the Ruoholahti, Koivusaari and Urheilupuisto stations. As for technical building services, Lemminkäinen will carry out the HVAC work at the Urheilupuisto station and the electricity and HVAC contract at the Aalto University station.
