LEMMINKÄINEN WINS MAJOR PAVING CONTRACTS FROM NORWEGIAN AND SWEDISH STATES

Lemminkäinen has won EUR 81 million worth of this year's paving contracts from the Norwegian state. This equates to 29 per cent of the asphalt work contracted out. Lemminkäinen received 30 paving contracts, with a total asphalt volume of 630,000 tons. An especially good market share was won in Northern and Central Norway. Contracts for Norway's municipal and private sectors will be put out to tender later in the spring and summer.

Lemminkäinen has been in the infrastructure construction business in Norway since 2001. In 2011, Lemminkäinen's net sales in Norway totalled around EUR 280 million and it employs around 600 people there.

In Sweden, Lemminkäinen has won EUR 11.5 million worth of paving contracts from the local traffic authority, Trafikverket. Based on mobile asphalt plants, these contracts include 130,000 tons of paving and are located in Central and Northern Sweden. In addition, Lemminkäinen has obtained the right to the Class 1 mineral aggregate zone in the Norrtälje region. Due to its reserves and location, this zone is of strategic value and serves operations in the Stockholm region. After 4 years break, Lemminkäinen has returned to Sweden's paving operations market.

Nordic infrastructure construction is one of Lemminkäinen's strategic growth areas. The company intends to increase net sales from infrastructure construction in Norway, Denmark and Sweden, by a total of about EUR 100 million in 2012-2013.
