Lemminkäinen to renovate a valuable office building in Helsinki city centre
Lemminkäinen has been selected as the primary contractor and the project management contractor of the Stora Enso Oyj headquarters renovation project. The project, which starts in March 2012, includes renovation of the interior and renewal of the building technology. The building is originally designed by Alvar Aalto and protected under the Act on the Protection of Buildings. The project is planned for completion by April 2013.
The renovation of this prestigious building, located next to the Market Square at Kanavanranta 1, further strengthens Lemminkäinen's position as the renovator of prestigious properties in the centre of Helsinki. Lemminkäinen has, for example, carried out the renovation projects of Torni Hotel, the Bulevardi 6 building and Kluuvi shopping centre.
"This new Stora Enso project is a natural continuation of our renovation projects of prestigious buildings in Helsinki city centre and an opportunity for us to use and further develop our know-how", says Director Kalevi Stenman of Lemminkäinen.
