Lemminkäinen to renew the pavement of Tromsø airport

LEMMINKÄINEN TO RENEW THE PAVEMENT OF TROMSØ AIRPORT

Lemminkäinen has received a paving contract worth approx. EUR 6 million from
Avinor, the state-owned enterprise responsible for planning, developing and
operating the Norwegian airport network. The contract involves laying about
18,000 tonnes of asphalt and delivering some 4,000 tonnes of crushed aggregate
to the Tromsø airport. Preparatory site work will start in April 2010 and the
actual paving work will begin in June-July. The paving work will be done at
night so as not to disrupt air traffic. 

The Tromsø contract extends the long-standing partnership between Lemminkäinen
and Avinor in demanding airport paving projects in Norway. In recent years
Lemminkäinen Norge AS has carried out paving contracts at Værnes, Skagen and
Bodø airports as well as the Rygge military air base. Longyearbyen Airport on
the island of Spitsbergen was paved in 2006.
