Lemminkäinen to reinforce the foundations of Stockholm´s central railway station

LEMMINKÄINEN TO REINFORCE THE FOUNDATIONS OF STOCKHOLM'S CENTRAL RAILWAY
STATION 

Lemminkäinen has been awarded the contract of underpinning Stockholm's Central
Railway Station. The client is Jernhusen AB and the contract is worth approx.
EUR 10 million. Lemminkäinen's work is part of a larger contract entity, and it
includes extensive steel piling as well as demolition, excavation, structural
steel and concrete works. Work on the contract site will commence in September
2010 and the reinforcement contract will be completed in summer 2012. 

Lemminkäinen has been carrying out geotechnical engineering and underpinning
works in Sweden since 1999. Lemminkäinen Infra's earlier geotechnical
engineering contracts in the country included Stockholm's oldest stone bridge,
the Norrbro bridge, the foundations of which were underpinned in 2007-2008.
Another prestigious project was the Bankajen reinforcement contract, which was
carried out in the immediate vicinity of Stockholm's Parliament Building in
2002-2003. 

"This new order significantly strengthens Lemminkäinen's position in the
Swedish market for geotechnical engineering and foundation reinforcement
