YIT will build new facilities for Karelia-Upofloor to Sinimäki in Espoo

YIT will build new facilities for the Karelia-Upofloor Group in Sinimäki in Espoo. The property, owned by the Tapiola Group, will be renovated to as good as new condition. The gross floor area of the five-storey building amounts to approximately 18,200 square metres. In addition to the renovation, YIT will be responsible for leasing the site.

The property's renovation work is partly finished, and Hovila Oy, a company importing fixture and building fittings, and Eastway Oy, a company organising public and business events, have already moved into the building.

The majority of the property's business and exhibition facilities on the ground floor and office and warehouse premises will be used by Karelia-Upofloor.

"In Sinimäki, our functions in the Helsinki region will be located under a single roof," says Jouko Siltanen, Karelia-Upofloor's Sales and Marketing Manager.

"As we required more space, we started looking for a place where our customers could easily arrive. In addition, we wanted new facilities for a showroom and a ceramic tile shop. Therefore, we required very versatile facilities. Sinimäentie was quickly selected because of its visible location and spaces tailored specifically for us," Siltanen says. The company will move to the new facilities at the end of 2009.

"The site has enjoyed excellent demand. About half of the facilities have been rented quickly and several negotiations are in progress for the remaining spaces," says Mia Halttunen, YIT's Account Manager responsible for leasing the site.

Logistics, warehouse and office facilities will be built in the property according to the customer's needs. Sinimäentie 8 is an excellent alternative for companies that seek office space in addition to warehouse and logistics premises located next to good traffic connections in the Helsinki region.
