History of YIT's share


1987

YIT Corporation was established on September 1, 1987, when Perusyhtymä Oy and YIT Oy Yleinen Insinööritoimisto merged. The company’s share was quoted on the broker list maintained by the Finnish Association of Securities Dealers. At the end of 1987, the company had 1,970,000 shares. The nominal value of the share was FIM 100 (EUR 16.82).

1992

YIT’s shares were transferred into the book-entry securities system as from August 14, 1992.

1994

On April 14, 1994, the nominal value of the share was changed such that each share having a nominal value of FIM 100 was divided into ten shares, each having a nominal value of FIM 10 (EUR 1.68). At the end of 1994, the company had 24,418,998 shares.

 

In September-October 1994, YIT made a share conversion and redemption offer to the other shareholders in the property investment company YIT-Kiinteistöt Oy, which was quoted at Helsinki Stock Exchange. As a result, YIT Corporation’s holding in YIT-Kiinteistöt Oy rose from 49.8% to 99.2%. Trading in YIT-Kiinteistöt Oy’s shares at the stock exchange ended on December 29, 1994.

1995

On the basis of the merger agreement made by YIT Corporation and YIT-Kiinteistöt Oy, the latter company’s shareholders had the option of receiving one YIT Corporation share for every three shares in YIT-Kiinteistöt Oy as merger compensation until June 30, 1995.

 

On September 4, 1995, YIT’s share was transferred from the broker list onto the official list of Helsinki Stock Exchange. The size of the round lot was 200 shares.

1997

From March 17 to 26, 1997, a share issue was held in which institutional investors subscribed for 4,080,000 shares and the public for 700,000 shares at a per-share price of FIM 61 (EUR 10.26) and the Group’s employees subscribed for 100,000 shares at a per-share price of FIM 56 (EUR 9.42).

1998

YIT-Yhtymä Oy (limited company) became YIT-Yhtymä Oyj (public limited company) on March 12, 1998.

1999

As from January 1, 1999, YIT changed over to the use of the euro as the accounting and financial statement currency.

 

At the Annual General Meeting held on March 8, 1999, the share capital was raised to EUR 58,675,324 such that the nominal value of the share was increased from EUR 1.68 to EUR 2 by means of a bonus issue.

2002

On August 12, 2002, YIT was recategorized from a Construction Business Sector company to an Other Services Business Sector company at Helsinki Stock Exchange.

2003

YIT’s round lot was reduced from 200 shares to 50 shares as from November 3, 2003.

2004

The Annual General Meeting held on March 18, 2004, decided to change the nominal value of the share from two euros to one euro, thereby doubling the number of shares from 30,523,375 to 61,046,750 (split). The change was entered in the trade register on March 26, 2004.

2005

On July 1, 2005, the Helsinki Stock Exchange adopted the new Global Industry Classification Standard as another step in the harmonization of the securities markets of the Nordic and Baltic countries. Under the standard, YIT’s sector classification  is “Industrials”.

2006 

The Annual General Meeting held on March 13, 2006, decided to change the nominal value of the share from one euro to 0.5 euro, thereby doubling the number of shares (split). The change was entered in the trade register on March 24, 2006.

2007

YIT Corporation’s Annual General Meeting, held on March 16, 2007, decided to amend the Article 3 of the Articles of Association such that references to the nominal value of shares and the minimum and maximum share capital were deleted. Also the article 11 of the Articles of Association, which sets forth regulations on the obligation to redeem the company’s shares once a certain shareholding limit is exceeded, was deleted.
