YIT Environment's biological nutrient removal processes include the biological removal of both phosphorous and nitrogen. In addition to conventional solutions special processes are available for variable and low temperature operation without chemicals.

Low load plug flow reactors have been developed for industrial waste water treatment. The main features include high COD reduction, efficient nutrient utilization and low sludge production.

Tertiary flotation and/or filtration processes are suitable in cases where extremely low treated water concentrations are needed, often in connection with the use or reuse of the waste water.
