We are of the opinion that waste and sludge have to be treated in the right way, therefore we have done this field to one of our main products.
The waste treatment process is performed to give a maximum circulation of the waste back to our environment. The household waste gives energy and nutrient.
Now YIT is contracting a large biogas plant for Lakeuden Etappi Oy in Ilmajoki, Finland. Total 55 000 tons/d of municipal and industrial sludge and household biowaste delivered from 13 neighbouring municipalities will be treated in this plant. The plant will be taken-over in February, 2008.
